For more than a century the name Ironside has been synonymous with metal working in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada. Starting as Ironside Blacksmith Shop in 1902 the founder, George Ironside, began looking after the metal working needs of the local community.

Along with several location changes within Chilliwack, Ironside Blacksmith Shop became Ironsides Ltd, then Ironsides Machining & Welding Ltd., then IMW Industries Ltd. (IMW)

In 1965, IMW designed one of the world's first machines to make helical lock-seam pipe, establishing itself as the leading supplier of complete pipe manufacturing systems in the corrugated steel pipe (CSP) industry. IMW's CSP systems are known for their reliability and long service life, enabling their operators to run efficient and profitable pipe factories.

Today, from our 70,000 square foot, well equipped facility, the Ironside name again lives on as Ironside Design Manufacturing Inc. (IDM), where we continue our leadership in the CSP industry and support a vast network of pipe producers worldwide. Ironside also continues to support the local community with custom fabrication & repair services, as well as industrial supplies.
