Ironside’s new mill has been in development for the past several years. As the only company to build truly mobile helical lock-seam pipe equipment, Ironside understood the strengths and limitations of previous designs. What does this mean to the customer? A Super Capacity Mill that can be transported practically anywhere without permits, can be set up in a matter of hours, is mobile not modular, operates at a standard height while using standard coils. This gives our customers a huge competitive advantage in today’s ever-changing market place.

The first thing you’ll notice when Ironside’s newly developed M3 Mobile Pipe Mill rolls up on the job site is how compact it is. We have designed the trailer based on a custom made DOT certified tandem axle trailer with weights and dimensions that are even legal in California. Only when you see it transformed to its production mode can you understand the innovative ground-up design that has made this equipment possible.

Until now 2x6 lock seam tooling has been unavailable to CSP producers. Until now producing 24’ pipe on-site with a mobile mill was only a pipe dream. That dream is now reality! With the assistance of 2x6 tooling, pipe that is 24’ in diameter and 40’ long can now be produced on-site. The IDM M3 can set up and turn out one pipe to complete a job within a day that would normally take tonnes of structural plate and weeks of man and crane hours to assemble.

Utilizing the torque of the 125 hp variable speed motor and 10 stations outfitted with your chose of standard tooling, it’s now possible to produce pipe on-site that before was impossible. With safety always in mind, the IDM M3 Mobile Mill in production mode operates at the same height as our standard IDM pipe mills. This ideal design not only makes this innovative machine easy to work around it also makes it ideal to easily set up in a building to add capacity to your regular plant operation when not being used in remote location.
